Daggett, California is the point that UP's line from Salt Lake City meets BNSF's transcontinental mainline just east of the big yard at Barstow. We taped the trains of BNSF & UP from before dawn to after sunset on a superb March 2000 day. Lots of intermodal, autorack and manifest traffic moving right along, powered by just about everything the two roads own. Our first look at the ugliest diesel in the US, UP's new 6000 hp SD90MAC's.
